One bad day in Paris

  (Sunday, March 18. 2007)
Moin Moin from Paris!

If you ever thought you had a bad day and you think "This day was even more worse than the day of Jack Bauer" (you know - the 24 star) then listen to me: Yours was NOT! READ MY LIPS! N-O-T! :D

Saturday morning I stand up early around 6:30 because I was trying to catch my flight back to Hamburg. I was going to fly back to Germany to get my car and stuff after my apartment in Paris.
I got a taxi and the driver looks suspicious - you know - how people look like whose don't know the exact way to the airport! So this guy drove in every little street and caught every red light he was able to find. Finally we were stuck behind a garbage truck. The time rans through my fingers and I was not able to do anything against it. Then we finally arrived at the airport around 8:35... (You need to know that my last check-in time was 8:40 so I rushed through CDG and got the tickets at 8:39!)

I was happy - everything was great! I was on time! I reached the security check and they really loved me - they touched me like they get paid for it. Great! Thank you for that nightmare GUYS!

Its 8:55 - finally I was through the security check! The boarding started 10 minutes ago - did they wait for me? YES! They did .. I ran into the plane and found my seat. But WHAT THE F***? I got my GPS receiver - my bag - my iPod - my keys... KEYS? KEEYYYYSSSSS??????? DAAMNNNNN I forgot the keys for my car in the apartment!!!! NOOOO!!!

I called my boss and he only screamed "get out of this plaaaanneeeee" so I did and you can imagine that the people who want to enter the plane (believe me - the security staff loved EVERY passenger so I was not the only one who was late) have no understanding for somebody who wants to get OUT after he got INTO the plane. So most of the passengers hate me now because I made my way through them - and if they didn't let me - I forced a bit (People who know me in person know that I can force by just pushing hrhr :D).

So I was out of the plane and thanks to my assistance I got a fully flexible ticket which I re-booked successfully to a flight later that day. But my time schedule was totally broken now.

Update:

After I was finally in Germany (Yep! This time with keys! :)) my parents were waiting for me at the airport to take me home. I got my car and took some hours of sleep until 01:00 AM Sunday. I started with a breakfast and had small talk with my parents. Around 03:00 AM I left to drive after Paris.

I started my navigation application and now guess?! YES! It crashed! I was not able to navigate to addresses saved in contacts any more. But finally it was working after applying the destination street manually.

The trip was boring - really boring. It was raining all the time and the streets were very slippery. I drove about 8:30h until Paris. In Paris I started writing the first blog entry and some so called friend was not even supposed to say "hello friend - nice to see you again after 4 weeks offline time" - I only got a "May I tell you that your English is totally horrible?!" Thank you guy! You know who you are... :P (Remind me to punish you at Evoke 2007! hihi j/k)

Ok! Finally I was in Paris and YES there was a free parking spot right in front of my door (its a cross walk). Now you can guess what happens after I parked my car there: The police came two seconds after I stopped my engine! I am now sure: They are scanning for cars which are not protected by some of these yellow pissed license numbers (The French ones!).

When I finally cleared out my car I was running up and down and up and down the whole street to bring every piece to my apartment. It was annoying!

All these happenings allow only one conclusion:

FRANCE IS HATING ME!

Thank you! Stay tuned! :D

I hope this was your first and last bad day in Paris. ;o)

Did you strengthen your French skills in the meantime?

@blu:
My apartment is cool. If I look out of the window in the living room I can see "Montmatre" (some important and well known church an a hill) and if I look out of the windows of the kitchen I can see the Eifeltower.

@morpheus:
I hope so too - I did not strengthen my French skills yet (no time etc)

@the guy who knows who he is:
Thank you, see you at Evoke 2007...

Well,

let`s say it that way: Your english is kinda different. Not particularly bad, but certainly different.

But if i can give you a little hint with the french: They love gay!

How about wearing a fancy, rainbow colored scarf with a half opened longsleve shirt and cut some pieces out of a old and dirty jeans. Try to walk like somebody gave you a kick in your balls and make sure your hair is styled like you had a one-night-stand with Elton John. The girls (and obviously also the mens) will love you! Cause you will look so damn gay. LOL

Have a closer look at the french Rugby team: http://blog.tiyun.de/uploads/blog_bilder/stade_fr.jpg
